ecofelt ‘feather’ earrings tutorial

I love these!

What you’ll need:

  • black paint
  • paint brush
  • scissors
  • earring findings, a little cord clamp (in the jewelry findings)
  • felt (I used eco felt, which is made from recycled plastic bottles!)

you need these.

Cut a rectangle from the felt.  I did 1″x4.5″. then cut it lengthwise again, achieving a ‘skinny’ look.  Trim the end to taper off, like a real feather. You can also cut ‘feather notches’!

cuttin’ up!

Now we are gonna paint the stripes!  the fashionable feathers have a chicken track like point, so I did up on one side and met it on the other, going down ward.

up we go........and down.

So, after they dried, I cut a fatter purple feather, attatched the clamp, popped it on a earring hook and PRESTO! No birds harmed!

a few good feathers.these clamps are great for quick earrings! I got mine at a local bead store.

You can alternately add it to a hair clip and make smaller ones and skinny long ones as well!
